Saving Slots are a feature that allows players to save any custom ship they create, as well as also loading said boats in, even in teams.
Obtaining[]
Three save slots are given out for free from the beginning of the game. Additional save slots cost either 100 ROBUX or 100 Gold, with the latter increasing by 100 again with each subsequent slot. The ROBUX price, meanwhile, always stays at 100. Note that 100 ROBUX can buy 1000 Gold, so it is not recommended to use ROBUX until purchasing at least 10 save slots with Gold.
A maximum of 192 total saving slots can be obtained.
Functionality[]
Upon pressing the pink "Save" button, the selected Saving Slot will save any block placed within the Building Space, even those which do not adhere to the grid. Any blocks outside will not save. Players have the option to also lock their saves to prevent them from accidentally overwriting their saves. In the event that an overwrite does occur, they can use the Load Old Versions feature to rollback their save.
Customization[]
Each slot has the same color (blue) by default, but can be changed to purple, red, green, and gray. Along with color, players can rename slots, up to 22 characters long. If an entered name is beyond that limit, it will be truncated to fit.
Players may rearrange slots in the Saves menu by clicking and holding a slot for a few seconds then clicking on another slot to swap.
Special saving slots[]
Lettered Save Slots (Removed)[]
Save slots were originally lettered from A through H and had different card shapes. A and B were free initially and C became free to use on 04/21/2018. Saving slots D and E (later F, G, and H following their addition in an update on 4/21/2018) were bought with 100 Robux or an increasing amount of gold: D starting with 1000 and H ending with 2500. After H, save slots used the same shape and had no letter, though the amount of gold continued increasing.
After the 4/21/2018 update, the gamepasses for C, D, and E were removed. Owners of D and E were reimbursed with Mega Thrusters, while owners of C received an extra saving slot.
On 06/12/2018, a save slot with a star was given for free as part of the 1 million favorites celebration.
All lettered save slots were removed on 9/28/19 and replaced with a generic save slot shape with no letter, except for the star save slot, which kept its star.
Bugs[]
If a player has Royal Member status, sometimes it will apply a +25% Gold cost for the Save Slots, and cost 1250 Gold instead of 1000.
History[]
- 04/11/2018: Users can now name their saving slots.
- 04/21/2018: Slot C is now free, and users who bought C get an extra; D and E are gone, however, the player can still buy more saving slots for 100 ROBUX.
- 06/12/2018: Star Saving Slot added to commemorate 1 million favorites on the game.
- 11/04/2018: The player can retrieve older saves for 15 Gold by using Load Old Versions.
- 12/12/2018: Lost slots can be restored using the Restore Slots option in settings.
- 12/31/2018: The player can buy more slots with Gold, Previously purchased slots got turned into 5 Mega Thrusters per slot.
- 09/28/2019: All of the lettered save slots were replaced.
- 05/16/2020: The Auto Save Slot was added to the game.
- 05/28/2021: Retrieving older saves no longer costs Gold.
- 03/21/2022: The amount of slots the player can buy with gold increased from 106 to 189, and rearranging save slots was made possible.
