Lightning Bolt is an obstacle in BABFT. It can be found in the Lightning Stage and Farm Stage. Upon contact with the ship, the lightning will explode and loosen the blocks on the ship. Lighting Bolt will always target the player. So, if a player is always at one part of their boat, the lightning will always strike around that area. Be warned that decoy boats do not deter it. Lightning Bolt sometimes have very weak effect only dealing a few damage points to the surrounding blocks where it impacts. However, if the ship is damaged beforehand, lightning can rip very wide holes in the ship, especially if the material is on the weaker end of blocks.
The best way to prevent large amounts of damage is to make very thick walls, floors, and roofs and to make them out of durable blocks such as Obsidian.

- When traveling over the Lightning Stage in a plane, these can still hit the aircraft if it is too close to the clouds.
- The Lightning Bolt can hit a boat outside of the stage.
